    Morris Ash was the brother of my great grandmother, Chaika (Ash) Berly. Chaika was married to William Berly (original surname was Steisal).

    • Morris arrived in the United States under the name of Moische Ass in New York on May 10, 1914 on the SS Caronia. His listed occupation was Mattress Maker. He later changed his name to Ash on his immigration papers.

      Susan (Mutnick) Ash says she knew him as Zaydee Moiche.
      She remembers him as a short man, sitting in the corner of his small kitchen, at the table with a squarish style yarmulke, drinking tea from his glass, with a lump of sugar and some lemon.
      A possible relative of Morris Mother, Anna Katz Kaminsky witnessed his naturalization papers.
